The Department requires the certification of individuals and businesses providing radon services or any other radon related activity.
Radon Business Certificates:
- To renew your radon business certificate before the expiration date, and forward your check or money order in the amount of $425 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon".
- To renew your radon business certificate more than 90 days after the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $450 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon", along with a completed renewal application form, DH 1749.
Radon Specialist Certificates:
- To renew your radon specialist certificate before the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $350 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon".
- To renew your radon specialist certificate more than 90 daysafter the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $375 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon", along with a completed renewal application form, DH 1751.
- To renew after one year you are required to attend a Florida approved radon specialist certification course and re-apply submitting form DH 1751. You will not have to re-take the certification examination.
Radon Technician Certificates:
- To renew your radon technician certificate before the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $275 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon".
- To renew your radon technician certificate up to 90 days after the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $300 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon"
- To renew your radon technician certificate 90 days to a year after the expiration date, forward your check or money order in the amount of $300 payable to "Florida Department of Health/Radon", along with a completed renewal application form, DH 1751.
- To renew after one year you are required to attend a Florida approved radon certification course and re-apply submitting form DH 1751. You will not have to re-take the certification examination.
Special Note:
Individuals conducting measurement or mitigation in housing funded or maintained by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are required to have additional certifications either through the National Radon Safety Board or the National Radon Proficiency Program.
