4052 Bald Cypress Way, Bin C25
Tallahassee, FL 32399
Central Registry
The Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program (BSCIP) offers eligible residents who have sustained a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury access to essential services that support their return to an appropriate level of functioning within their community.
Funding for the program is through traffic-related fines, temporary license tags, motorcycle specialty plates, and general revenue.
Referral Process
Referrals can be made by calling the BSCIP Central Registry toll-free number or by faxing them to the program.
Section 381.74, Florida Statutes, requires that all hospitals, attending physicians, and public, private, or social agencies refer all new traumatic moderate-to-severe brain or spinal cord injuries to the Central Registry.
Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria and require services and support to sustain their health and safety in the community may refer themselves to the Central Registry.
A case manager from the program will reach out to the referred individual within 10 business days and collaborate with them and their family to assess eligibility for the program. They will also provide information about federal, state, and community resources. If needed, a personalized community reintegration plan may be developed and implemented.
