Bystanders are often the first on the scene during emergencies, and rapid blood loss can be fatal in just five minutes. The Stop the Bleed campaign, endorsed by the Florida Department of Health and launched by the White House in 2015, empowers individuals to act swiftly and effectively.
To support this effort, the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Preparedness and Response has distributed kits statewide. Each kit includes vital supplies—such as tourniquets, QuikClot, gloves, bandages, gauze, sponges, scissors, and an instructional guide—to help provide immediate bleeding control and reduce preventable deaths.

Stop the Bleed Kits and replacement supplies can be ordered through trusted vendors, such as those available at Bleeding Kits. When purchasing, ensure you are using a reputable vendor since there have been instances of counterfeit tourniquets that may not function correctly in an emergency.
It is also important to routinely check your kits for expired items or low stock, so they remain fully prepared for use when needed. Regular monitoring and timely replenishment help ensure that your entity's kits are always ready to support effective bleeding control in critical situations.
