Hepatitis Awareness Month

By Florida Department of Health, Office of Communications

May 01, 2018

May is National Hepatitis Month, which raises awareness about viral hepatitis and encourages testing and prevention. In the US, the most common types of viral hepatitis are hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. While they can all produce similar symptoms, each type of hepatitis virus is transmitted in different ways and affects different populations.

For more information about hepatitis vaccine and testing availability, contact your local health department.

Learn the ABCs of hepatitis from the Centers for Disease Control and Health Protection, take an online risk assessment, or watch this PSA to learn more.
