HHS Exchange Visitor Program

Background

The HHS Exchange Visitor Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Physicians applying for this waiver must submit a letter of support/acknowledgement from their state health department. In Florida, the Primary Care Office provides support/acknowledgment letters on behalf of the Florida Department of Health. The program is designed to improve access to the shortage of qualified primary care doctors within federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas to address health disparities across the country.

Process to Apply

After Application

After reviewing the submitted request, the letter of support/acknowledgement will be drafted and emailed to the physician and the person requesting the letter to be included with the physician’s application being filed with HHS.

Changes

Any changes that result in the necessity of a new letter of support/acknowledgement from the PCO would require a new request form. The request form should be submitted in writing via email or mailed to the above address as soon as the need for t
